The Challenge: Liz Claiborne wanted to make the best use of online marketing to drive in-store retail traffic.
The Solution: Using Peersuasion, we were able to create a referral coupon campaign that reached well beyond the traditional direct-mail audience.
The program started with recipients being notified via email about a special Friends & Family offer: a 25% off coupon redeemable at Liz Claiborne retail outlets. The recipient clicked through to a website where the coupon could be accessed and printed. Throughout the process, recipients were invited to forward the coupon to their friends, who took a similar process to get the coupon and refer their friends, creating a cycle of referral activity.
The Results: The email received well-above-average program participation rates. Email opens, click-throughs and forwards proved the offer generated interest and action by the initial recipients and referrals. Liz Claiborne was able to track success metrics by the number of coupons redeemed in-store.
